People in Oman love children and they are welcomed and smiled at in all circumstances. On our trip to Oman, Oskar received free kids rides, lollipops, crisps and even some money!

Below are our top tips of things to bring which should make for an easier 4×4 wild camping trip with a toddler in Oman:

  • Car seat
  • Water bottle
  • Kids sleeping bag Folding travel potty
  • Sun guard for car window
  • Sunglasses and sunhat
  • Some books to read before bed
  • A large muslin to protect from sun in car/walks/prams…a good piece of kit!
  • Hiking rucksack if you intend to hike or walk into the wadi’s
  • Small umbrella pram if your toddler still sleeps during the day like ours (lucky us!)
  • Toys: We gave our 3yo the choice of a few toys to go in a small rucksack and we brought some new activity/colouring books (great when playing with other children too), a few fav episodes downloaded for when the drive was just a bit too long. And we also ended up buying a small football for a kick around the campsites in the afternoons.

These are just a few of the things to remember, let us know what you would add to your list.
